Voiding or declining contracts

Cancel or reject a contract before it is fully signed.

Sometimes contracts need to be cancelled or signers may decline. Here's how to handle these situations.

Voiding a sent contract

If you want to cancel a contract that was sent but not yet fully signed:

How to void a contract
  1. 1Open the contract.
  2. 2Click More Actions (three dots).
  3. 3Select Void Contract.
  4. 4Confirm when prompted.
  5. 5The contract is marked as Void and no further signing is possible.
  6. 6All signers are notified that the contract has been cancelled.
ℹ️
Note: You cannot void a contract that has already been countersigned. Once a contract is final, it cannot be changed.

When a signer declines

If a signer clicks the "I do not agree" button when reviewing the contract, their status changes to Declined.

When this happens, you can:

  • Edit the contract to address their concerns and resend to that signer.
  • Contact them directly to discuss why they declined.
  • Void the contract and start fresh with a new version.
  • Contact a different signer from that organization.
💡
Tip: If a signer declines, review your contract text and make sure it's clear and fair. A decline may signal confusion or disagreement.

Resending to a signer

If a signer hasn't signed yet (status is Sent or Viewed), you can send them a reminder by clicking Resend next to their name in the Signers section.
