Countersigning and completing contracts
Sign the contract as the business owner and finalize the agreement.
Once all signers have signed a contract, you countersign it as the business owner. This makes the contract official and legally binding.
How to countersign a contract
- 1Open a contract where all signers have signed.
- 2Review the contract one more time to make sure everything is correct.
- 3Click Countersign.
- 4Enter your name (your signature is added automatically with the date).
- 5Click Complete.
What happens when you countersign
When you countersign:
- The contract status changes to Countersigned.
- A completion email is sent to all signers with a copy of the fully signed contract.
- If the contract is linked to a deal, the deal automatically advances to the next stage (certs_issued).
- An audit entry is recorded in the contract timeline.
Contract linked to a deal
Contracts can be linked to deals (B2B opportunities) in your pipeline. When you countersign a contract linked to a deal, the deal automatically progresses.
💡
Tip: To link a contract to a deal, open the contract and click Link to Deal, then select the deal from the dropdown.
ℹ️
Note: You can only countersign a contract once. After countersigning, the contract is final and cannot be edited.
